The U3A Writing for Pleasure group has continued to thrive as an enjoyable gathering of mostly kindred spirits who have been happy to share some often idiosyncratic, often amusing and occasionally challenging ideas intended to be read out loud among friends. We have  not  aspired to become published authors and that has usually freed us from the cumbersome detail of correctness. The formula has worked well. Many of us have been together for more than a decade and recently membership has almost reached the limit where we can only just meet in the supportively intimate setting of  a private home. We might even have to establish a waiting list!
