We are a small and friendly group which meets in the home of one of our members on the second Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. The meetings last around two hours. We prepare a short piece in German on a topic of our own choosing so that we feel comfortable reading it out to the group. Inputs vary enormously from memories of our earlier yers, our recent activities to items in the current news. The standard of spoken German ranges from mother-tongue to basic holiday level. So as long as you have a reasonable grasp of the language, you should be able to fit in and soon feel at home. We are not a teaching group but assistance from the more fluent members is offered if any of us gets stuck! We round off our meetings in true German style with Kaffee und Kuchen, or the English equivalent! The emphasis is very much on informality and getting enjoyment from our efforts.
