Our publicity team, reaching out to the community.

The publicity group are responsible for ensuring the High Wycombe and District u3a is increasing their membership by maintaining a high profile amongst the local community.. This is achieved through holding local exibitions and events.

Barbara, a member of the publicity team looking after the very eye catching display which generated much interest from the local attendees. This was an event held by a the village for all the interest groups that use the community hall.

Our publicity team once again reached out to the local community by taking part in the annual Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church in the centre of High Wycombe. Each year, the church invites local organisations to decorate a Christmas tree to showcase their work and community involvement.

Our tree reflects the voices of our u3a members. The decorations feature comments and reflections on what being part of u3a means to them, highlighting the friendships, learning, and enjoyment shared across our groups.

The tree, pictured above, will be on display from 17th of December 2025 to the 3rd of January 2026

Members of the u3a threw themselves enthusiastically into putting together an excellent exhibition of their beautiful arts and crafts as part of the St Michael and All Angels Church's Flower Festival at Hughenden Park over the bank holiday. A couple of members also contributed to the actual Flower Festival and our team enjoyed telling the visitors to our exhibition all about the u3a and what it has to offer. The weather was brilliant and the cakes and coffee at Church House never ran out, so a good time was had by all, including some of us having the opportunity to tour the bell tower and witness the expert ringers in action. What a treat. We hope that several people who visited us will want to join us as we move into the autumn. Thanks to everyone who took part.
